The California Alliance for Minority Participation is designed for students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

As such, our greatest partner, the National Science Foundation, has great links for Undergraduate Research, updated regularly. The website provides separate links for each discipline. If you are interested in any of these please contact us if you would like support in applying for these programs.

Summer Research in Germany

The Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) program, run by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), gives U.S. and Canadian students in the fields of biology, chemistry, earth sciences, engineering, and physics the chance to spend a summer working with German doctoral students on serious research projects. The doctoral students help integrate the undergraduate directly into the lab work, and they serve as personal and professional mentors. All participants receive stipends from DAAD to help cover living expenses, and the partner universities and research institutions help in finding housing.

A PDF of this information can be clicked on the right -->

The application deadline is 31 January 2008.

Thank you Dr. Azize-Brewer for sharing the information (UCSD-CAMP)

Colorado State Fellowships

Information about two fellowships for our LSAMP students. They are the “Bridge to the Doctorate” (BD) fellowship and the Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) fellowship at Colorado State University.

The BD and AGEP fellowships are tremendous opportunities for those students who aspire to one day become a faculty member in a STEM field. The fellowships may provide the incentive to your students to become a role model and encourage other underrepresented students to pursue their academic careers as well.
